Michael Gaines joined the United States Army in 1969 and was wounded during a tour of duty in Viet Nam.
After receiving an honorable discharge, he underwent several months of physical rehabilitation. Michael's
musical talents landed him a job with Motown's Mary Wells, and later with the popular soul-recording artist
Bobby Womack. Michael sharpened his entertainment skills at San Diego's Mesa College. His courses in Advanced
Drama led to television co-staring roles and principal characters in numerous televised National Commercials.
Michael met noted Hanna Barbera creative director Ken Rotcop on the Paramount Studios lot and immediately
enrolled in Mr. Rotcop's screen writing class. Using his unique gift of animation and story telling, Michael
created such story lines as "The Hip-Hop A.N.T.S." and "The Honolulu Harry Cartoon Show." Each evolved into movie,
and television commercial advertising formats. Michael also created Anti-Drug Videos, and positive rap music for
television and radio airplay.
Michael witnessed Drug Abuse and Domestic Violence between his parents at an early age resulting in his placement
into several Foster Homes. These experiences motivated Michael to create musical and animated vehicles to address
such issues.
Michael has received numerous accolades for his dedication and devotion to the community from the U.S. Government.
He was awarded a special commendation for 600 hours of volunteer service in the Physical Therapy Department at the
La Jolla California Veterans Administration Hospital.
Michael Gaines believes in the purity of his motives. He continues to use his Fashion, Animation, and Music
talents to Stimulate, Enlighten, and Encourage the realization of Self-knowledge, which facilitates the development
